The MNDDC didn't disappoint this year! We had demos at 9, 11, 1, 3, & 5! Cedar and I played at 9, 1, & 5. She did an exceptional job, settling into the routine within the commotion. It does take a lot out of her, however. I know we say she's non-stop, and she is for the most part, but when you add the hot weather, large crowds, several other amped up dogs, and requiring tricks, she tends to lock up and try and dictate the game, playing on her own terms. Basically just toss and catch, lol.

I'm always nervous the first time out. Cedar did really well, despite my nervousness. I went too fast and had my back to the crowd. Even though I was over thinking it, she stayed on point and was tracking the disc well and maintained her focus. After the demo was over, we went out to visit with the crowd. Kids were petting her and she was getting a lot of attention!

The second time around she was in a different space. I'm not sure if she just wanted to go to the kiddie pool or if it was because i woke her up from her nap in her crate! I started trying to play to her, and threw out by family in the crowd and Jessica was there! Oh boy! Cedar stopped dead in her tracks and got all happy to see her! OOPS! She did catch the disc though ;)

The third time out was perfect! I was able to get my throws lined up to the crowd, got lots of oooohhhhh and aaaahhhhs. We did the "fun" stuff she likes, flips and leg unders. One catch was really close to the audience and they all gave thumbs up which really gave her pause! It's very exciting to see her respond to the crowd in that way. The thumbs up is a good sign for her, commonly only given by people who work close with her, me and Jess. It was amazing to see all of those people reinforce such a great signal to her.
